We are a group of volunteers who banded together in 2002 and created the nonprofit Historic Tugboat Education and Restoration Society. All of the various projects we undertake to restore and preserve our vintage tugboats: the U.S.S. Nokomis, a hero of Pearl Harbor, and the U.S.S. Wenonah are resource intensive. Each project has an educational aspect and a 'learn by doing' component for the youth who come aboard. Most times the resources are volunteer labor and specific maritime grade materials, but we do have some that require monetary resources. We will have to haul the boats out for their inspections and hull maintenance; this will require a substantial amount of money. As a 501(c) registered nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible and fully encouraged. Please be generous and donate today. Corporate sponsors are actively being sought. For more information on donating please email us at donate@hters.org. |
